This concept design for a mixed-use apartment complex invites users to congregate, shop, and eat in open, landscaped plazas, providing much-needed amenities for the apartment owners above and employees who work in this Santa Ana, California neighborhood. The project features 170,000 s.f. of valuable rentable space in apartments, live/work lofts, and retail areas: 215 apartment units sit atop an elevated podium while retail/restaurant spaces and 440 parking spaces are accessed at street level.
The swimming pool on the third floor cantilevers over the platform, its glass face allowing on-lookers to see those daring enough to swim to the suspended edge.
The private interior courtyard provides tenants with outdoor space to socialize, enclosed at the west end with a soundwall and water feature, keeping noise from the nearby highway at bay.
Apartment owners can also enjoy a rooftop party deck with outdoor cooking areas and a wet bar.
