This project included the addition of an entry canopy and renovation of 12,200 sf commercial office space which included interior lobbies, corridors, shared conference rooms, break room, restrooms and a spec suite remodel.
Located in Pasadena, California, amidst a sea of ground floor retail storefronts, the existing office entry lacked visibility and identity. A new glass and bronze metal canopy was introduced along with full height frameless glazing and doors and new integrated signage. The contemporary design contrasts with the surrounding traditional vocabulary while maintaining a sophisticated palette in dark browns and white.
Inside the entry lobby, a patterned white marble wall and floor brightens the compact space and provides a sleek contrast to the newly burnished existing bronze elevators and walnut panel clad stairwell volume. Every design decision was strategically made to provide the most impact within the limited budget.
The previously dark elevator lobbies of the upper floor offices were transformed by borrowing natural light and views through floor-to-ceiling glazed walls of the new shared conference rooms, located across from the elevator lobby.
New fixtures contemporize the existing bathrooms and the addition of an ADA unisex bathroom brings the facility up to code.
