Occupying a 13-acre triangular site next to the Los Angeles River, the Dreamworks SKG Animation studios was master planned and designed as combination "high-tech - high-touch" environment needed for a creative corps of more than one thousand employees.
Through innovative infrastructure planning, the campus accommodates technological growth and internal spatial flexibility with an environment that stimulates creativity and synergistic gatherings.
The five principal buildings of the complex are organized around a hierarchy of open spaces and internal "hubs", each of which provide locations for open-air meetings, encounters, and creative dialogue. At the heart of the complex lies a large common plaza or piazza, from which smaller courtyards connect via covered arcade walkways to each structure. The paths also encounter a man-made river that traces the vestigial path of a natural arroyo that was once part of the Los Angeles River.

They shared our vision and gave that vision a beautiful and practical expression And [...] they always manages to incorporate a sense of fun and subtle surprise. ”
