In an increasingly digital world, the analog sketch stands as a powerful and insightful tool for analysis, expression and memory. Typically reliant on the computer and powerful software, much of the initial concept and planning is expressed by early sketches on any piece of paper that happens to be around. Furthermore, technical details often start as a simple hand drawing. The 700 Palms residence by EYRC began as a sketch and fully resolved through details that often start as a simple hand drawing. Embedded with character and intent, hand sketches still contribute immensely to the practice of architecture.
